ParaGolfer now ready to be used in New Britain

8/6/2013 12:00:00 AM

DJ Gregory, Founder of the Walking for Kids Foundation, was in New Britain, CT this week to check in on the Handicapped ParaGolfer Cart that his Foundation (Walking for Kids Foundation) made a $6,000 donation for. The cart, over $20,000, was purchased a few months ago by Stanley Golf Course through private donations, with Walking for Kids Foundation being one of the biggest individual donors. The ParaGolfer cart is now available for usage at Stanley Golf Course for both youth and adults.

One of the biggest benefits of the ParaGolfer cart is its ability to allow people without use of their legs to enjoy the game of golf. The Parks and Recreation Department is currently putting together an adaptive program with several local hospitals (Hospital for Special Care, Gaylord Hospital, Mt. Sinai, and Hospital of Central CT) which have patients who will be eligible to use the cart. A clinic on the ParaGolfer will be held on Wednesday August 28th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Stanley Golf Course in New Britain. For more information on how to access the cart call 860-827-8570.
